The Rajasthan Government has launched a major welfare scheme for livestock owners called Mukhyamantri Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana. Under this scheme, farmers and animal rearers can get free insurance for their livestock such as cows, buffaloes, goats, sheep, and camels. What is Mukhyamantri Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana?
Mukhyamantri Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana was announced in the Rajasthan Budget 2024–25 (Point No. 132) to strengthen the economic security of livestock owners. Under this scheme, the government will provide free insurance coverage for selected animals across the state.
The government has set the following insurance targets:
- 5 lakh milch cows
- 5 lakh buffaloes
- 5 lakh sheep
- 5 lakh goats
- 1 lakh camels
The total budget allocation for this scheme is ₹400 crore.

Under one Jan Aadhaar card, a beneficiary can insure:
- Up to 2 milch cows or 2 milch buffaloes

- Up to 10 sheep
- Up to 10 camels
District-wise targets have also been fixed. Once the target is achieved, registration will be closed automatically.
Insurance Amount (Animal-wise)
The insurance value is decided based on the animal category:
- Milch Cow: ₹3,000 per liter of daily milk production (maximum ₹40,000)
- Milch Buffalo: ₹4,000 per liter of daily milk production (maximum ₹40,000)
- Female Goat: Up to ₹4,000 per animal
- Female Sheep: Up to ₹4,000 per animal
- Camel: Up to ₹40,000 per animal
In case of any dispute, the decision of the government veterinary officer will be final.
Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana Registration Process
The registration process is completely online. Livestock owners can apply using their Jan Aadhaar card through the following methods:

- Offline support through e-Mitra centers
Registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
Village-Level Insurance Camps
The Animal Husbandry Department will organize special insurance camps in villages. From 1 December, insurance agents and veterinary doctors will jointly conduct camps in revenue villages to assist livestock owners with registration and verification.
